We left Las Vegas and went to California. The back roads out of Redlands was very nice. The mountains were different. The two lane road for the most part was not very busy. That was good for us on our way to Oregon.
On our way from Oregon, we were heading for Boise, Idaho and saw smoke in the distance. At first we weren't sure as to what the origin of the fire was. The smoke was black and we thought that it could be a structure on fire or the Indians setting tires on fire, like they have in upstate New York in the past.
But as you can see the closer we came, we could see that it was a forest fire. As you can see there is some black smoke, so we thought that there might be a structure involved, but couldn't think of what would be out there in the middle of nowhere.
The farming areas were tranquil and the weather was great.
Even the farmers were out working. It seems that when ever we go past a farm, there is no one out working. I guess the saying that the farmer gets up with the chickens, and goes to bed with them, just might be true. I took this picture going 60mph and caught the farmer, just right.

I was only able to catch part of the sign along side of the road that said where a dirt road went towards the fire. It is some type of research for agricultural, so I wonder if the place caught on fire. As we drove further on we didn't see any fire trucks heading our way. Interesting to say the least.
After we delivered in Boise, Idaho we were sent to Grantsville, Utah to the Wal-mart distribution center with a load. From there we went to Spanish Fork, Utah to pick up a load of cardboard to take to Mantica, California.
The Great Salt Lake is still beautiful. This was taken from I-80 heading West.
We are now spending the night in Rippon, California for the night and will find out where we will go next in the morning. The weather is nice and cool. For sure we will not have to run the truck tonight to stay cool or warm, for the temperature is just right for sleeping.
I have been remiss in not keeping up with this blog, but I will try to do better. It is just that some days it gets hectic and I don't know what is up or down, let alone where I am at. It is good that Tom doesn't get tired of me asking him, "Where am I at now?"
So until the next time I will see you On The Other Side.
