Home for a few

Been awhile since I have posted anything.  I have been at home resting and seeing my friends and grandsons.  Fathers Day was extra special.  We had all four grandsons for dinner.  They cooked their grandfather dinner.  It was special, since Grandpa told us that he had never had anyone cook him a Fathers Day dinner.  From the oldest, Jeffery to the youngest, Jonah, they pitched in and help cook.
Jeffery and Grandpa after the little ones got through with him.
Curtis, is laid back and a chow hound.  I have never seen such a young man put away the food.  Found out that pineapple is one of his favorite fruits, tho.

Jobe was even a clean plater, for a change.  Ice cream was his favorite part of dinner.
Jonah, was right there most of the time with Grandpa, with words of wisdom.  He had to have his "Grandpa Time".

The weather here has been hot, hot, hot.  I am ready to go back out on the truck to cool off.  At least when I am on the truck I am never in the same weather for very long.
I will try to post more later. Until then, I'll see you on the other side.

From Colorado to Wyoming

We left Denver, Co and our final destination is to be Seattle, WA.  We have to stop in Meridian, ID and Spokane, WA before then.  When we were in Denver the smoke from the fires in Arizona was getting to be quite bad.  As you can see from the picture I took as we were leaving the area, you can't see the mountains for the smoke.  I read in the news that there were many towns in Arizona that were being evacuated, due to the fire.  Alpine, is one of them that I have been to many times.  It is a very quaint town and the people there are quite friendly.

As we were going towards Wyoming on the back roads, I saw this rock formation.  It reminded me of Stone Hedge,in Ireland.  Makes you wonder how these two rocks formed way up there on the ridge.
As we came  into Wyoming, the landscape  began to change and there were more mountains and hills.

This formation reminded me of something that you would see in Egypt.  Just maybe there is a pyramid  over there.

The horses we see are so beautiful.  I wonder how someone could let them be out so far from a barn or house and not worry about someone taking them.  There were three along side the road in the trees.  Of course there was a fence to keep them safe, but a horse can jump a fence, if they want to.

We came into the town of Medicine Bow.  I thought it would be a larger town, considering the part it played in the Old West. The population  is only 200 + or - a few.  I guess things are never what you think they are, until you go and see for yourself.

We came up on this guy, that was along side the road, and I have no clue as to what is is doing.  He apparently has some type of monitoring equipment, and he was set up to spend some time there, for he had a cooler and as you can see, a comfortable chair.
The sign as  you come into Medicine Bow that gives you the population and elevation.

We were coming down what they call the Sisters, in Wyoming, and there was a dust storm to beat the band.  As you can see by the picture the dirt was changing locations with vigor.  I would have hated to be in a wagon during one of these storms.  It was bad enough in a truck.  The poor little cars were getting pushed around along with the ones pulling travel trailers. It is just was just as well that we were stopping for the night soon, and calling it a day, for the wind was almost getting the best of everyone.  Even the construction workers were trying their best to do a job in adverse conditions.

Can you imagine driving one of those roller things and not being able to see where you are going?  It appears that the white truck and the roller are on a collision course.  I wonder where the drivers went?

I really don't think that this guy was too smart, for he was driving right into the wind and the other guys bailed out of their machines.  Hummm.  What is wrong with this picture?
We are spending the night in Evanston, WY and then on to Idaho.  So we will see you ..On the Other Side.
